PHOTOGRAPHS: ALLEN GINSBERG, introduction by Robert Frank.
Allen Ginsberg hand-wrote captions below each one of his photographs in his signature wobbling script. This one reads, “Jack Kerouac passing statue of Samuel Cox in Thompkins Square Park, walking up East 7th Street from my apartment to the corner of Avenue A, Fall 1953 — he’s making a Dostoevsky mad face or Russian basso be-bop Om. Just walking around the neighborhood.”
