A few years ago we were pitching @maserati. The team and I traveled to Italy in search of a concept to ground our pitch. "Italian Futurism, 1909-1944: Reconstructing the Universe" landed on my lap and I knew it held the solution. Inside were some of the most interesting Brutalist and Futuristic art and architecture from the Industrial Age of Italy. There is a sculpture inside the book by Umberto Boccioni called " Unique Forms of Continuity in Space," which is a celebration of the fast pace and mechanical power of the modern world. This became the focus of my idea, along with some graphic inspiration from some of the great futuristic murals of Italy — like this one on page 230.
